How to Consign at Threads

Threads accepts consignments Sunday through Friday from open until one hour before close. We do not accept consignments on Saturday, no exceptions. If you would like more specific information about what items we are currently taking, please feel free to call us at the store you plan to visit. Phone numbers are listed on our contact page.

Threads may temporarily suspend or modify hours of acceptance for consignment items based on store inventory at any time and without notice.

Consignment Guidelines:

  • Clothing items should be on hangers or neatly folded in a basket or structured bags
  • Items should be freshly laundered or dry cleaned, stain and odor free
  • Clothing should be free of wrinkles with no piling or animal hair, snags, holes, tears
  • Shoes and boots should be in like-new condition, free of scuffs and neatly polished
  • Shoes that show significant wear will not be considered for consignment
  • All items should be current in fashion and no older than 2 – 3 years
  • Sizes up to 2X in our Broomfield & Lafayette stores
  • We do not accept appointments
  • We accept a limited amount of home items and furniture at our Westminster locations only. For consideration of furniture items, please email photos to threadshomestore@gmail.com

Items we do NOT accept:

  • Discount store brands
  • Lower-end department store house brands (i.e., JC Penney, Sears, Kohl’s)
  • Items with brand labels removed
  • Maternity or wedding attire
  • Men’s and children’s clothing
  • Vintage items are accepted on a very limited basis
  • Sizes above 2X

Acceptance and pricing of items to be placed on consignment is at the exclusive discretion of Threads personnel. Consignment period is for 60 days. For items sold during the consignment period, consigners will receive 50% of the sold price in cash or check for furniture and 40% for all other items. If you elect to spend your earnings in the store, we will give you an extra 10% of whatever you make to use in store credit. There will be a $12.00 yearly fee assessed for consigning in our store to help us cover the cost of preparing your items for our sales floor. Unlike many stores, we tidy, steam and press each item individually so your items look their best and, consequently, sell better and more quickly.

If the consigner would like to pick up unsold items, there is a nominal fee of $1.00/per item to retrieve the items from the sales floor. Items not picked up by the end of the consignment period will expire and become store property.

Threads reserves the right to decline any consignment for any reason. We do try to accommodate as best we can but please understand that due to limited resources we are unable to process and/or sell items that are significantly dated, dirty or wrinkled.
